He Census ( 2) in 1830 in Jackson Co., AL..⁽³⁾ He Census (4) in 1850 in Jackson Co., AL.. ⁽⁶⁾ He Census (5) in 1860 in Jackson Co., AL.. ⁽¹¹⁾ He Census (6) in 1870 in Jackson Co., AL.. ⁽¹²⁾ He Census (7) in 1880 in Jackson Co., AL.. ⁽¹³⁾ He died on 20 Aug 1888 in Woodville, Jackson Co., AL.. ⁽¹⁴⁾ He was buried in Peters Cove, Jackson Co., AL.. On the 1860 census it says that he was 59, so I believe he is the one on t he 1830 census.

Spout Spring, two and one half miles northeast of Woodville, was once t he home of Samuel B. Moore,the only Governor Jackson County ever furnish ed the state. Judge Moore was living here when the Civil War began. What k in, if any , he was to the Governor we do not know. Farther east of Woodvi lle is Peters' Cove, lying on both sides of the railroad, extending to Ste phens' Gap. It was named for the Peters family who settled here before t he county was created. Johny Peters (born 1797, died 1888) came to Huntsvi lle when a boy, built one of the first cabins at Maysville, then came to P eters'Cove. He was a large man and one of the strongest men in the count y. When the M & C Railroad was surveyed in 1851, it took his well and hom e, so he had to move back near the mountain. Settlers were: Johny and An dy Peters, Simeon Houk, charley Stephens, Lacy Houk, Uriah and J. M. Peter s.
